In 2001 the Atom Group was originally formed by the association of three Practices, BSF Consulting Engineering in Canterbury, Philip Thomson and Partners in Edinburgh, and James Lupton Associates in Leeds. In 2003 Laurence Ray and Partners (of Bristol) joined the Atom Group to provide total national coverage to Clients.

Each Practice provides general Civil and Structural design capability to the group, however in addition the following specialisms are available to the group: -

Projects can be completed either by the Atom Group or by an individual Practice using the resources of the group. Such projects recently completed include: -
